CLE Cavaliers -8.5 Point Spread @ ORL Magic
The Cavs are limping to the finish line of the regular season. Injuries destroyed what they were building but they will always have next year with this young group. I still like them to be too much for Orlando, who has its own injury woes.
@ IND Pacers
This is a major mismatch. Philly is a title contender and Indiana an alsoran so the 76ers should win with ease. My only worry is what they might do if they get up big My hunch is they will really rest the likes of James Harden and Joel Embiid and that might allow Indiana to make it closer than it really was. That’s why a small play is suggested.
MIA Heat -5.5 Point Spread vs CHA Hornets
Miami is 13-4 SU in their last 17 vs Eastern Conference teams and with 27 wins in 39 home games they have the 2nd best home record in the East. They’ve beaten the Hornets in all 3 meetings this season by an average of 12.3 points per game.
HOU Rockets +17.0 Point Spread @ BKN Nets
The Houston Rockets have been a respectable 18th in net offensive and defensive rating over the last 10 games. As a result, they have not lost any of their last 6 games by a margin larger than 7 points. The Nets on the other hand have struggled to contain opposing guards of late. With Jalen Green of the Rockets dropping 30 or more points in each of his last 4, he should be well positioned to help his team stay competitive here.
MIL Bucks -5.5 Point Spread @ CHI Bulls
Bulls are just 7-24 SU in their 31 games as an underdog this season. They’ve also failed to beat any of the top 3 teams from each conference in 16 attempts. Milwaukee has won 15 of the last 16 meetings and has covered in 10 of 11 visits to the United Center.
OKC Thunder -3.5 Point Spread vs POR Trail Blazers
Although both teams rank bottom five in points per game, the Thunder have a distinctive edge on the defensive end where they rank fifteenth in opponent points per game while the Blazers allow the third most points per game. At the end of the day, there isn’t much separating these two teams, but the Thunder’s superior defense and recent win over the Suns gives them the slight edge.
MIN Timberwolves -11.5 Point Spread vs WAS Wizards
Karl-Anthony Towns and Anthony Edwards lead the way for this Minnesota team who should be highly motivated in this game to take down a weak opponent and improve their place in the standings. Washington not only lacks the defensive ability to slow down Minnesota, but they also lack the scoring ability to keep pace with them as well, so look for the Wolves to win at home.
